Racemic
Jump to: navigation, search

Racemic is the quality of a substance of being part of a racemate. Racemates are equimolar mixtures of a pair of enantiomers which do not exhibit net optical activity. Typically these are identified by (±) or the stereo terms RS and SR. Occasionally you may also see rac- in the name as well. These substances should not have any chiral centers or stereo bonds defined in the connection table.
